Improving the ecosystem of care for people with ASD: Training in mindfulness and compassion with families and therapists. This was a presentation, part of the symposium "Positive psychology in people with intellectual disabilities and developmental disabilities", at the 5th Congress of Positive Psychology. Bilbao, May 12-14, 2022. We describe empirical evidence from studies with families and therapists of people with ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) of the effects of CBCT® (Cognitively-Based Compassion Training) suggesting that CBCT® has the potential to: (1) help families accept their experience and use available social support more effectively, and (2) become an effective technique for reducing stress and increasing social competence and resilience in families and professionals.
